Telford RollinChimney Sweep
What we do

Brushes, rods and a vacuum.

Sheets down before anything starts, and the soot leaves in a bag rather than across the carpet.

The standard job

A full sweep

Sheets go down and the hearth is sealed before a brush goes near the flue, so the soot goes into the vacuum instead of into the room.

The flue is swept its full length, the appliance is put back together, and the hearth is left as it was found.

What is included

  • Hearth sheeted and sealed
  • Flue swept its full length
  • Soot vacuumed and taken away
  • Appliance reassembled and checked
  • Sweeping certificate issued
When it will not draw

Blocked flues

Birds nests

Jackdaws will fill a pot in a season. It is the most common reason a fire suddenly smokes back into the room.

Cowls and guards

Once a flue is cleared, a cowl keeps the birds and the rain out of it. Worth doing at the same visit.

The paperwork

Sweeping certificates

Why it matters

  • Most home insurers expect a chimney to be swept regularly
  • The certificate is the evidence if you ever claim
  • Landlords are usually asked for one between tenancies
  • Keep it somewhere you will find it again

A certificate is issued at the end of the visit with the date, the appliance and the work done on it. Most people never think about it until the insurer asks.

Prices

What does a sweep cost?

Placeholder — needs your figures

No prices are published anywhere, and we will not guess at them. Send your figures, even a from-price for a single open fire, and they go on the page. People ring far more readily when they have some idea first.

Placeholder — needs confirming

Worth adding once you confirm them:

  • Whether you sweep gas and oil appliances as well as solid fuel
  • CCTV flue inspections and smoke tests
  • Whether you fit cowls and bird guards yourself
  • Commercial or landlord work
  • The full list of towns you cover
